Breathing is essential for life we tend not to use this all-important function to our best advantage. By breathing optimally it keeps our mind and body functioning at their best. It maintains an appropriate oxygen and carbon dioxide mix to promote metabolism and other essential cell functions, reduces blood pressure, and promotes mental and physical calm to name just a few benefits. Breathing optimally is essential for performing physically and mentally at your best. Alinear has outlined 3 techniques for you to gain the most benefit from breathing.
 
1. Nose Breathing
Using your thumb on your right nostril, your pinky, and your third finger, hold your right nostril closed and inhale up your left nostril. Pause, and while your lungs are full of air, switch your fingers so that your left nostril is closed. Then, exhale out your right nostril. Inhale up your right nostril, pause, and again while your lungs are full of air, switch your fingers so that your right nostril is closed. Exhale. Repeat this about 12 times. This breath is often done in preparation for deep relaxation or meditation.

2. Chest Breathing
This breathing technique is also known as diaphragm breathing. You will keep the air in the chest (usually by making your chest up and down regularly). The benefits of this technique are, that your lung muscles can be strengthened, reducing asthma, and respiratory infections.
 
3. Stomach Breathing
This breathing technique is done by saving air in the abdominal cavity and then releasing it through the mouth regularly. This way recognized can relieve the symptoms of nausea and other indigestion. This technique is also able to optimize the metabolism process in your body and control your appetite.
