The food that you eat can taste a million times better when in the presence of those closest to you. The act of dining with your loved ones is imprinted in our culture and has become a platform to share special moments and happiness. Here are a few restaurants specializing in local delicacies where you can take your family and have a great time.

1. Talaga Sampireun
The place is really huge and still really clean, neat, and organized. You will be super fond of how they still put the "green" here and there to keep the place looking earthy as well as alive! There are cottages available and for the cottage seating, the minimum payment condition will be applied to the customers, but since it's the coziest, most relaxing, and also a private area to dine in, you might want to consider.

The fresh seafood serves in Talaga Sampireun are all self-breed, they have their own fish breeding pond as well as for the prawns, squids and many others. They wanted to keep the ingredients and the food as fresh as possible and that's why they're still applying the conventional processes starting from the breeding, and cleaning to the cooking but still with a little sophisticated touch here and there.

Nasi Liwet at Talaga Sampireun is so delicious and since most Sundanese food protein sources are seafood, chicken, and soybeans products, Nasi Liwet is just the perfect companion to them. This one is a decent example of Nasi Liwet and you should have this on your visit here.

2. Seroeni
Seroeni restaurant hasn’t been around that long, but this Chinese-Malay eatery has quickly found its place among Puri Indah’s favorite eating spots. Here you should try  Singapore Crispy Sotong, extra crunchy fried small squids with sweet soy sauce. And Shrek Snow Ice, you will have to give this one a try! It’s a super soft, shaved ice cream like-dessert, on a wafer bowl, with choco balls, almonds, choco sauce & vanilla wafer toppings. It literally melts in your mouth and satisfies your sweet tooth.

3. Pingoo Restaurant
This new restaurant opened on 28th December 2016 and is a part of Jakarta Aquarium, an indoor aquarium endorsed by Taman Safari Indonesia and Aquawalk Sdn. Bhd. that opened in Neo SOHO Mall's lower ground floor.

The restaurant is decorated with a beach house concept using white, blue, and turquoise colors with dimmed light, there’s a children's playground area in the corner to entertain the kids, and also a huge aquarium as the playground of penguins.

There is plenty of variety of food offered in Pingoo, salad Rp 65.000 – Rp90.000, appetizer & nibbles Rp 60.000 – Rp 100.000, soup Rp 55.000, pasta Rp 65.000 – Rp 85.000, steak Rp 170.000 to Rp 270.000, grill, casserole, seafood bucket, etc. For the drink, you can find lemonade, iced tea, mocktails, soft drink, tea, and coffee with prices ranging from Rp 20.000 to Rp 38.000.

4. Central Restaurant
The central restaurant has its humble beginning in 1979, in a small place in Jakarta. At present, they cater a wide selection of Chinese cuisine whether it is for a casual lunch, family dinner, or a special occasion deserving a sumptuous feast. They also have multiple branches across Jakarta, including one in Petojo.

You should try the corn soup with crab, that is so good. It is warm and you can still taste the crab.

5. Layar Seafood
If you are familiar with and actually fond of Layar Seafood in Surabaya, you are going to be very happy to know that Layar is now opening in Jakarta!

Kepiting Jantan Saus Bawang is a must-try here. The shallot sauce is so good it had this beautiful basil-infused flavor to it, and that particular basil flavor really elevated the flavor of the whole dish! It’s oily without being greasy.
