The right to menstruation leave in Indonesia is regulated in UU Nomor 13 Tahun 2003 Pasal 81 ayat (1) concerning about Employment. The regulation reads, "Women workers / laborers who experience menstrual pain and notify employers, are not required to work on the first and second days of menstruation".

The right of leave when menstruation is included in the work agreement, so the corporate can’t refuse the application for the leave. "Implementation of the provisions referred to in ayat (1) shall be regulated in a work agreement, company regulations, or collective labor agreement," reads ayat (2).

With the existence of this regulation, it is clear that women workers are entitled to receive the right to take leave when menstruating every month for one to two days as stipulated in a mutual agreement and are binding on both parties.
