This year's Jakarta anniversary celebration is very different, because it take place during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta continues to strive to hold a series of events virtually, so that Jakartans can still celebrate Jakarta's 493th anniversary. The theme of the celebration of the capital city’s anniversary is Jakarta Tangguh, which shows Jakarta as a tough city in facing the COVID-19 pandemic.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretary, and head of the committee of Jakarta’s 493rd Anniversary, Saefullah, said that the difference in celebration this year is only related to procedures for celebrating the Jakarta’s anniversary. Previously, in the series of Jakarta Anniversary celebrations filled with outdoor activities with big crowds, this time of the pandemic is replaced by holding several virtual activities.
"These new habits do not reduce the substance of Jakarta’s Anniversary, which is grateful for and reflect on our progress. We can also continue to find joy in new forms through various activities that are new to the pandemic," Saefullah said, on Saturday (6/20) ). "For Jakartans, we prepare a variety of events held virtually, so that they can still be enjoyed even from home," he continued.
One of them that can be enjoyed by people is Jakarta Great Online Sale festival which is being held from today, 22 to 30 June 2020. However, there are several e-commerce that have started the festival since 20June, where people can also help Jakarta MSMEs in the pandemic through a number of e-commerce.
Jakarta Great Online Sale collaborate with eight platforms / e-commerce that provide great offers, such as discounts up to 80%, 15% cashback, food delivery voucher, and free shipping. While the eight e-commerce sites include Tokopedia, Food Station, Grab, GoJek, Bukalapak, Lazada, Blibli, and Pasar Jaya.
