In spite of the fact that Jakarta has myriad cafés and restaurants, not all of them are kid-friendly. Because, to fall into kids friendly category, they at least have a kids' menu and playroom. Here are three spots your kids will love.

Taman Santap Rumah Kayu Ancol

Missing having good meals while flight? This time, without buying a flight ticket, you can enjoy delicious meals at Taman Santap Rumah Kayu Ancol above the real plane. This kind of restaurant turned a cabin of 737-400 into a first-class dining room which completes with flight attendants to serve.

They offer diverse meals your kids will love including fried rice, soup, chicken to seafood. But, they do not sell that menu per portion, you can choose per table which consists of 10 menus for Rp600.000 that ideal for 4 people, or per package with a minimum of 4 portions.

After having good meals, you can explore the cockpit areas for selfies. Interesting, right? Based on regulations provided by Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, the minimum age of children allowed to visit Taman Impian Jaya Ancol is 9-year old.

With its interesting bright orange color, Onokabe is easily found among restaurants in Alam Sutera. The spacious place where the first floor also has an available massage area and the second floor for a playroom, diverse food selection, and friendly prices make foodies choose Onokabe as one of the good kids and/or family restaurants.

Sukiyaki and Yakiniku pans are embedded in each table. Next to the table, you can spot a conveyor belt where Sukiyaki ingredients move all the time. For Sukiyaki, you can choose two soups over seven soups available, Chicken Collagen Broth, Tom Yum Goong, Szechuan Hot Boiling Soup, Indonesian Soto, Balinese Betutu Soup, Wild Mushroom Soup dan Beef Herb Soup.

For barbecue grills, you can choose a diverse food selection at the buffet area. There are meat, seafood, pasta, fried rice, sushi, dim sum, soup, fritters, dessert-like waffles and ice cream, and much more.

Brood-en-Boter (Permanently closed)

Located in Kemang, this one became parents' favorite spot to spend quality time with their loved ones. In spite of the fact that the dominance of the white wall gives a ‘cold’ vibes to kids, shortly after walking through the main door, a warm ambiance will immediately scatter around the room.

The name brood-en-boter itself means bread and butter in Dutch. The smell of bread, donuts, and cakes definitely scatter around the room. They offer a delicious healthy menu made using natural ingredients without bread improver, cake emulsifier, and preservatives.

The most recommended menu to try is old-fashioned donuts—donat gula and Cokelat Meisjes—Nutella donuts which are popular among kids, Kaya bread with homemade sweet kaya jam, and Baso Sapi bread with a savory filling of minced beef and meatballs.

To prevent transmission of COVID-19, brood-en-boter limits the number of seats for dine-in. For those who want to visit this café, do not forget to wear a mask, and use hand sanitizer before coming into the room, eating, and after touching any object or surface also always apply cough and sneeze ethics as well as safe toilet ethics.
