Not long ago, mobile app analysis company, App Annie, released a list of top apps of the decade. There are two categories released by App Annie, Top 10 Apps by All-time Downloads, and Top 10 Apps by All-time Consumer Spend.
Facebook Inc. dominates Top 10 Apps by All-time Downloads category. In fact, four of top ten most popular apps of the decade belong to Facebook Inc.. First in the list is the social media platform Facebook, followed by Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram.
App Annie also released a list of Top 10 Apps by All-time Consumer Spend. Video and music streaming services dominate this category, such as Netflix perched at number one, Pandora Music at number three, Tencent Video at number four, Spotify at number seven, YouTube at number eight, and HBO NOW at number nine. According to App Annie, streaming video and music apps for the past ten years have indeed become apps that most often used by smartphone users.
