This is the reason why the left side of the face looks more attractive in selfies

The reason behind the left side of the face looks more attractive in selfies. How come? Check out below!

Are you one of those people who likes selfies? If so, take a look at your selfies! Which side of your face do you show the most, right or left? According to research conducted by a lecturer in experimental neuropsychology at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Annukka Lindell, the results of thousands of selfies show that most people take selfies by showing their left face. Why is that?

Of the 2,000 selfies Lindell observed, 779 photos, or the equivalent of 41 percent showed the left side of the face. He argues that the tendency to repeat the same pose shows that a person is aware of which side looks more attractive.

This research on the phenomenon of left-side bias shows that the left side of the face is considered more attractive because it is related to emotions in humans. The left side of the face shows more expression especially when smiling. This is because the left side of the face is a place where special muscles are capable of sending unique emotions (smiling, feeling happy, and others).

This is supported by evidence that as much as 60 percent of paintings made since the 14th century show the left side of the model's face, including the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. So, which side is your favorite when it comes to selfies?
