Jakarta's Bike Sharing Service Locations and How to Use It

The Transportation Agency of DKI Jakarta is currently conducting a trial of bike sharing service.

Since 3 July 2020, the Transportation Agency of DKI Jakarta  is currently conducting a trial of bike sharing service. Based on information from @dishubdkijakarta Instagram account, Jakarta’s bike sharing service provides 200 bikes with a rate of Rp 3,000 per 15 minutes and operational hours from 6:00 to 18:00 WIB.

If you are interested in trying Jakarta's Bike Sharing service, you can find it in nine locations:
 
  1. Bundaran HI MRT Station
  2. East side of the Pelican Crossing Bundaran HI
  3.  West side of the Pelican Crossing Bundaran HI
  4.  In front of Sinar Mas Building
  5.  South Side City Hall Bus Stop
  6.  Tanah Abang Station
  7.  Central Jakarta Mayor's Office / Inscription Museum
  8.  Abdul Muis Technical Office Building
  9.  Jatibaru Technical Service Building
 
Then how to use Jakarta's Bike Sharing service?
 
  • Download GOWES app.
  • If you are already logged in, top up your GOWES balance to rent a bike.
  •  Scan the QR Code on the bike you want to use to open the lock and start cycling.
  •  When you have finished, park the bike again in an available GOWES parking zone, then lock it manually.
  •  Don't forget to scan the QR Code at GOWES bike parking lot to end the trip.
 
Meanwhile, Head of DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that they will increasing bike sharing locations. This is due to high public interest in the use of bike sharing. "We will evaluate our number of bike station points in the corridors of mass public transportation," Syafrin said at City Hall, in Central Jakarta, Monday (7/13), quoted from liputan6.com.

Transportation Agency of DKI Jakarta also reminded the public to always comply with applicable health protocols such as wearing a face mask and always keeping a safe distance from others.
