After the recent update, WhatsApp added three new features for its users. Those are starred message, rich preview and direct share. For the first one, starred message is used to mark messages that we want to read later. This the feature that we usually find in email services. To use this, you just have to press a bit longer on the messages you want to mark, then click on the star icon that popped on the screen. To access the marked messages, click on Chats menu, then Menu, and the Starred Messages option. The starred messages will be shown here.
For the second feature, rich preview allows user to send link in a more attractive display so the message receiver will be more interested on clicking the link. It’s like sharing link on your Facebook timeline, with an image shown from the link. If you are not comfortable with this feature, you can turn it off manually.
The last new feature can be enjoyed only by Android users, with Marshmallow operating system or newer. The direct share feature will ease other users to share link to their WhatsApp contacts. If we had to copy the link and send it by browsing through the WhatsApp contacts list, now with direct share the contacts menu will be shown directly, so the link sharing is much easier and more instant.
