Continuing from the previous article, here are other best diving spots in Indonesia part two.

1. Weh Island, Banda Aceh

Located in western Indonesia, Weh Island offering you a wide array of diving spots you should not miss. Beautiful coral reefs, diverse aquatic life, calm waves, those makes Weh Island named as a world-class diving paradise in Indonesia. One of divers’ favourite spot is Batee Tokong. Here, you can see magnificent 25 meters ‘cliff’ under the sea. If you are lucky enough, you can meet a group of sharks, octopuses, Lion Fish to Frog Fish. For any beginners diver, you can visit Arus Balee located in between Plau Rubia and Seulako. You will be spoiled with calm waves and tame sharks here.

2. Alor Island, East Nusa Tenggara

The beauty of Alor Island located at east Flores, East Nusa Tenggara cannot be denied. You can see mantis shrimp, manta rays, napoleon fish even whale shark while diving here. What’s makes Alor more interesting? They has level of difficulty for diving spots, it can be enjoyed for beginners and professional ones. Some spots known for its challenging paths are Crocodile Rock, Cave Point, Alor Expree, No Man’s Land and Rahim’s Point. Alor Island also known for its clear water, even at depth of 40 meters, you can see magnificent aquatic life clearly.

3. Lembeh Strait, North Sulawesi

Located two hours away by boat from Manado, Lembeh Strait is an ideal spot for muck diving yet macro photographers. Using the right camera, this strait also called “The Mecca of Macro Photography” is a heaven for unique endemic species, such as Emperor Cuttlefish, Mimic Octopus, Ghost Pipefish, Flamboyant Cuttlefish, Nudibranch and many more. Because the sea floor covered with black sand, it is highly recommended to not touch the bottom while diving to keep its water clear.
