Indonesia is known as an archipelagic country that produces various abundant crops, one of which is coffee. Although coffee production in the country is not as big as in other countries in Europe, Indonesia is one of the countries that produce the best coffee in the world. Even its popularity has managed to steal the attention of coffee lovers in the world. Here are five coffee beans from Indonesia that have gone global.

1. Kopi Aceh Gayo
This Acehnese coffee has two of the most popular types of Gayo coffee, namely Gayo coffee (Arabica) and Ulee Kareeng coffee (Robusta). However, Arabica varieties dominate the type of coffee developed by Aceh Gayo coffee bean farmers. The production of Arabica coffee produced from Gayo land is the largest in Asia and is one of the most popular Indonesian specialty coffees for coffee lovers in the world. In fact, this coffee is touted as the best organic coffee in the world, you know. Wow!

2. Kopi Toraja
This coffee from Toraja land reached the peak of its popularity in 2012 after the single origin from Toraja Sapan received the highest cupping value (the art of judging a cup of coffee) at the Special Coffee Association Coffee Auction event held in Surabaya. Since then, more and more people have looked at this coffee.

Toraja coffee has a number of characteristics that make it interesting, namely its taste is similar to typical African coffee. In fact, the unique taste of this coffee makes one of the leading online coffee-selling companies from New Orleans, United States, include Toraja Coffee as one of its main items.

3. Kopi Luwak
You must have heard of this one coffee or are you a big fan? Did you know that Kopi Luwak has been known as the world's best coffee since 1969? This coffee itself comes from the islands of Java and Sumatra.

Kopi Luwak is expensive coffee because it can be priced at more than IDR 1 million for only 1 kg. This coffee also has its own uniqueness that makes it more popular, namely the production process. Civets eat coffee cherries first. Furthermore, these animals will excrete feces in the form of undigested coffee beans and then take them to be made into coffee. The coffee bean fermentation process carried out by the mongoose actually makes the coffee taste more delicious and soft.

4. Kopi Wamena
Not only known for its stunning nature and abundant gold yields, Wamena, Papua is also one of the best coffee producers in the world. Wamena coffee itself grows at an altitude of 1500 meters with a temperature of 20 ° C.

Wamena coffee has a low acidity level which makes it a coffee with a light taste but a sharp aroma. What makes this coffee quality is that the farmers grow it organically and do not use chemicals.

5. Kopi Bali
This coffee, which comes from the Kintamani area, Bali, has been around since the 20th century. Balinese coffee is produced with the Abian Subak system which encourages organic coffee processing and produces a taste that tends to be sweet and soft.

In 2008, this coffee successfully achieved the official Geographical Indication (GI) certificate, which means that Balinese coffee has met international coffee standards. Be proud!
